Pics from Prof. Ron Roehl who reports:
This is Christmas Eve morning and we have electricians, carpenters and roofers working at least to noon.
There are 2 pics of the roofers who have finished the cap on the southern end of the building. Also working to finished the connecting area roof with its cap.
Inside the electricians are working on the flexible conduit for the horizontal runs and rigid conduit for the vertical runs. Most boxes are in and waiting for conduit connections and the pulling of the wires.
The mechanical room (4 pics) is getting the finished wooden panel wall. It seemed like 3/4 inch plywood finished on one side. It gets only paint on these panels.
The other pics show the tubes where the geothermal tubing come in and also the connector for the geothermal lines to the various zones in the building. You can see that each of them has its own shutoff so control of the various zones will be quite easy.
I do not know when the workers will be back after Christmas.
Blessing to each of you as we are again amazed and comforted by the Christmas story.
Enjoy!

Electrical Has Begun
Pics from Prof. Ron Roehl who reports:
Not much different from yesterday.
You can see the lid versus the plastic on the one photo. The sheetrock is for the lid in that room.
Flex conduit seems pretty standard because of the long runs.
Cutting and putting in stud spacers.
Roofers were at it in the afternoon.

Windows and Insulation
Pics from Prof. Ron Roehl who writes:
Back side of this roof is done and they are at work on the front of the connecting area between the sets of two classrooms.
The windows are mostly all in on the phase one section.
The inside is being heated with the burner you see. You have a pic from the inside and from the outside.
The inside outside walls are all batted and ready for the wall covering. The ceiling has the vapor barrier up and ready for the lid of sheetrock.
Looking better every day.

Windows Installed
Photos courtesy of Cheryl Meyer who writes:
Just thought I would add a few roofing pix, and today they are putting in windows! It is looking great. Too bad for so much snow, but they seems to be dealing with it fine.
IF you are headed to the concert tonight, please drive safely! Merry Christmas! Cheryl

Roofing in Full Swing
Pics courtesy of Prof. Ron Roehl who reports:
Roofers are here and going full blast. The South slope is papered and should be pretty well all shingled by tomorrow depending on the weather. There is some paper on the back side but it looks like they will paper as they go contrary to one of the earlier reports.
The inside pictures are dark but you can see that the plastic vapor barrier is going up in preparation for the sheetrock lid. Some insulation has arrived and the men are putting some in the wall areas.
It is still very slippery inside with the real smooth concrete floor and the snow still not melted on that smooth floor. It helped that a group of students got in there last Saturday and got a lot of the snow down off the rafters so that will not bother the workers.
The concert is soon upon us and the students will be gone. Remember the concert is at Messiah Church (Friday at 7:30 pm).

Roofers Coming
Photos courtesy of Prof. Ron Roehl who writes:
Roofers will be in early next week, probably Monday. They will paper all of it and then begin shingling.
The carpenters have just a few sheets to nail down and they will have the entire roof ready for the roofers.
Windows will start to go in next week. There will be temporary doors to fill the openings so they can get heat in and melt all the snow on the rafters so it won't drip on the workers continually. Of course it will be warmer working also.
Pictures will be harder to get from now on because most of the work is on the inside for a time and I will want to stay out of the way. Maybe evenings I can go in and catch up on the days work. If I don my hardhat maybe they will let me in.
