The test well went down 180 feet. Easy drilling all the way. The tubes were put in and the insulation mortar or what ever it is was poured around it. All the tests will be run on this well and then if all tests out OK, they will drill the rest. They feel they will be able to do 3 to 4 wells a day which means 12 to 15 daysdays for that project.

Finishing the Slab and Walls
Photos courtesy of Prof. Ron Roehl who writes:
The whole slab was scored today, which should prevent the cracking in places they don't want it to crack.
The pouring of walls in the back should finish all the concrete walls that they are planning to do until Reim Hall is taken down. Still waiting on the slab for whatever. I think it is the trap for the science rooms that may be holding that up. Wooden walls will start soon-we hope.

Getting Ready for the Slab
Photos courtesy of Prof. Ron Roehl who writes:
Looks like the main slab will be poured tomorrow. The far south part has to wait for the plumbers. I think the special trap for the science room is not on site yet. As you look at the pictures, you will see some workers putting down plastic. The slab will be poured right over that area and right up to the foundation wall along Reim Hall. It looks huge. As Jim Sydow would say as he looked at it, "We sure got along for a long time with something real small didn't we?" To say the least, I say.

Footings for Stage 2
The footings for the second stage of the building project are also being poured at this time, obviously as a head start for early next year. These are being setup around Reim Hall which will need to be demolished after the first phase is completed and the classrooms are able to be moved in.
Photos courtesy of Prof. Ron Roehl who writes:
- I tried to use background to be sure you knew where the pics were taken.
- I don't know why the hydrant is facing that way.
- The dirt road or driveway with the yellow ribbon is the road off F the loggers put in to use this winter.
- The filled in water trench is taken from the street toward the property along Schaller's house.

Cottage Demolition
This afternoon, around 4 pm, the cottage demolition began. It was quite a sight to see this building come down. And it came down quickly. I'm sure many of us have fond memories of having classes there! These pictures are courtesy of Cheryl Meyer:

Trustee's Financial Plan - September Update
At the 2008 CLC Convention, the Trustees presented a financial plan for the building of the Academic Center. This was something they believed could be possible given past giving trends within the church body. It helped alleviate concerns regarding the amount of money that would have to be borrowed commercially for the project. The following link shows the latest update from the Trustees in how the current financial status compares with that plan:

At the fall Coordinating Council meeting, the Trustees gave this financial update of the building. During their presentation they unveiled t-shirts conveying the message: "Git-R-Done!" On the back of the shirt was a picture of the proposed building:
