Cottage Demolition

This afternoon, around 4 pm, the cottage demolition began. It was quite a sight to see this building come down. And it came down quickly. I'm sure many of us have fond memories of having classes there! These pictures are courtesy of Cheryl Meyer:

Financial Update - From September

ILC Building Fund Contributions: $33,172
..................................................Balance: $597,571.18
CEF Promissory Notes: $407,340
..................................................Balance: $652,449.05

ILC Building Fund receipts include $15,500 in congregational offerings and $17,670 in special contributions; disbursements include $38,780 on the Ingram remodel project and $67,100 for architectural planning for the new academic center.

Church Extension Fund (CEF) receipts include $49,590 in mortgage payments and $407,340 in promissory notes.

Trustee's Financial Plan - September Update

At the 2008 CLC Convention, the Trustees presented a financial plan for the building of the Academic Center. This was something they believed could be possible given past giving trends within the church body. It helped alleviate concerns regarding the amount of money that would have to be borrowed commercially for the project. The following link shows the latest update from the Trustees in how the current financial status compares with that plan:

At the fall Coordinating Council meeting, the Trustees gave this financial update of the building. During their presentation they unveiled t-shirts conveying the message: "Git-R-Done!" On the back of the shirt was a picture of the proposed building:

Update from Building Committee

ILC Building Committee Chairman, Pastor Michael Roehl reports:

• All bids are now in and have been awarded.
• Original estimate was $2.4 M plus architect's fees, which we originally estimated at $100-150 K.
• We have added the geothermal system, masonry storm shelter room, and somenecessary campus infrastructure items (primarily storm water management andretention pond)
• Final GMP has been set at $2.67M, although we anticipate that number will golower as construction proceeds
• A low interest construction loan is being secured from Wells Fargo Bank atapproximately 5.25% This line of credit may or may not be utilized.
• Revised estimates call for Phase One to be completed Jan-Feb of 2009 and full project completion May-June of 2009
